5 mini-features about being a young Nunga today

This series was produced as a project of Youth Making Waves for Youth, at the Kura Yerlo Council Inc, which provides support, training, childcare and activities for the Indigenous community of the Largs Bay area in Adelaide.

The team are all secondary students at Le Fevre High School. They learnt their radio making skills at weekly sessions over two school terms at Radio Adelaide. In August 2004 they produced two editions of The Aboriginal Message, our weekly program broadcast on community and Indigenous stations around Australia. The shows included news about some local rap musicians and the Aboriginal Youth Action Committee, along with some of their favourite music.

Keepin' it Real was produced by the team in Radio Adelaide studios, with the support of Mandy Coolen- Kennedy and Peter Hodgson.

Katie Perry from Kura Yerlo and Nicky Page from Radio Adelaide planned and supervised the project.
